As most everyone is aware, the Church has suspended the canning of all meat products. We will be conducting a test run on October 10th, with a new set of procedures that must be followed. It is critical that anyone wishing to participate in the canning of meat products review thoroughly the attached documents. (Documents available from R.S. Presidency Sunday.) A signed copy of the “Note of Ownership (Bill of Sale)” must be received by October 3, 2008, in order to participate in this canning session. (This can either be a faxed copy of the document [Fax: 529-9956], or a signed original document.) Any questions can be directed to the cannery. Calling in to sign up will not be complete nor secure you a place in this family canning activity until we have the signed “Note of Ownership (Bill of Sale)” in our possession. If someone fails to show up on the canning date, the product cannot be sold to anyone else, nor given away. The only alternative the cannery will have will be to throw the product away.
This test run will assist the Church in evaluating the feasibility of offering meat products for family canning in the future. Your cooperation, patience and understanding is appreciated.
