WARD PARTY

The bishop has asked that all of us Ladies call our V.T. Girls and remind them of the ward party!!!

Here are the details:

Saturday August 28, Victor Church

4:00-5:00 Bingo and other games with prizes

5:00 dinner

6:00-7:00 More fun and games for everyone with prizes

Please be sure to bring your camp chairs or picnic blankets, hopefully we can be outside for much of the afternoon.

We are happy to announce "the two man crosscut" has been added as part of the games after dinner! Men, Women, and families will be welcome to "make the cut"

Please make sure you get your baby pictures in to Charles Parsons, Ann-Marie Kunz or Stacy Stewart. Stacy needs these by Monday at the latest.  We need a couple more families to sign up for the "ice cream challenge" Let Chris Kunz know if you are interested.

Food Assignments:  A-M Salads, N-Z Desserts

I am not going to be able to attend due to being gone for a family reunion, so IF ANYONE takes pictures PLEASE email them to me so I can share them on the blog.

Peaches & Pears

For anyone interested in peaches and/or pears.....I can get 1/2 bushel boxes (@ 26 pounds) of peaches for $10 and pears for $11.  They come from Symms Fruit Ranch in Boise.  They will be ready for pickup in Idaho Falls around the last week of August to the first week of September.  If you want some or know of anyone who would like some let me know by Monday the 23rd of August.  You can make your checks out to Symms Fruit Ranch, there is no tax just the flat $10 or $11 per box.  If you have any questions you can give me a call, 787-3105.  I think I will pick them up myself or if we have tons maybe with another person and then those who ordered them can pick them up from my house rather than everyone having to drive to I.F.  Have a great day!

Corn Bread Salad

from: Jill Patterson

1 (pkg.) hidden Valley Ranch dry dressing

1c. sour cream

1c. mayonnaise

1 (9 inch) pan cornbread

2 (16oz) can black or pinto beans

2 (16oz) can whole kernel sweet corn

Tomatoes

Green peppers

Red peppers

Green or red onions, olives- optional

Shredded cheddar cheese

Bacon cooked and crumbled

Combine salad dressing mix, sour cream, & mayonnaise. Set aside; place half of crumbled cornbread (cooled) in the bottom of serving bowl. Layer each ingredient than in middle of layering add a layer of dressing. Do another layer of vegetables, than rest of cornbread and dressing. Top off with cheese and bacon. Chill until serving

Yield 10-12 servings

Job Fair

There is an Eastern Idaho Job & Resource Fair coming up on Wednesday, May 18th, at the Eastern Idaho Technical College in Idaho Falls. It will be from 11 am to 3 pm, and will include over 20 businesses looking for new workers. It is sponsored by the Department of Labor, EITC, Freemed, Deseret Industries, and the Development Workshop. The fair will also include workshops on interviewing, resume development, career search, dealing with barriers to employment, veterans services and coping with financial problems.

Homemaking Skills Group -

This group will meet to enhance their homemaking skills and learn things like how to make your own detergent, cake-decorating, flower arranging, card making, etc. Should be lots of fun!

Pot-Luck Group

We will meet in May at the park for another potluck. Time and Date will be announced as we get closer and the weather gets a little warmer!

Temple Groups

This can be done on an individual basis. Call a friend and carpool to the temple on a day that works for you. It's just a little nudge to help us all put forth an extra effort to get to the temple!
